DLNA and Netflix

I just bought a HT-C6930W home theater and so far I love it but have a few questions.

1. I'm running a Linksys Media Hub that's running Twonky media server. When connecting via DLNA it doesn't let me fast forward, rewind or pause. I get an error that its not available? What is the use of DLNA if I can't control the server? I don't want to have a computer running just to watch my movies. Are these features going to be considered in future firmware releases?

2. Netflix, why is it I cannot browse the netflix library? It only lets me see what's in my instant queue. I also run a PS3 in another room and it lets me browse all kinds of movies and shows. Is this option soon to be available?

Thanks

Anonymous,

DLNA doesn't guarantee FF>> or REW>> features, and while it's not supported on all devices, it may vary by file type, too.

As for the Netflix App, they may offer an update, and some models have seen that reflected recently. As it stands, it's the interface that they've chosen for the player. You might try updating the firmware for the Blu-Ray/HT system to see if Netflix provides an update after the latest firmware is applied.

If that doesn't work, then I'm not sure if or when the option would be available. Netflix would be able to speak on that, and can be reached at 866-716-00414.

Contacted Netflix. They had me go through a bunch of attempts to get the movie library to come up and after everything failed I was told that the problem had to be the latest firmware upgrade. They are going to disconnect my device and after 8 hours I can reconnect and then try again. The support rep stated that I should be able to browse all the netflix library.

As for DLNA, it shouldn't be that difficult to add it to a next firmware upgrade. You really have a excellent product with AllShare, don't let it go to waste but not taking it to its highest potential. AllShare it the reason I have 3 AllShare devices in my home but they are right on the edge on being perfect. I also have another 3 Samsung TV's and a Samsung Fridge.
