Before the three in a row it would only do it once every couple of hours or so. I have not noticed a pattern or anything like that.
Anyone have any idea why my T400 would be making a chirping sound? I think it is coming from the right side of the computer, not positive though.

I've noticed this too. It's happened after a OS reinstall and the Intel storage matrix/sata driver hasn't yet been updated. Happens at post. What version is your storage controller driver?

How would I find out what version my storage controller driver is? The chirping seems to be more frequent. I am curious as to why it is chirping.

In my past experiences with the T400 and even my T510, chirping and even any kinds of noises I believe are from the hard drives. Thinkpads are made very silently otherwise but the hard drives always make really silly noises. Chances are it'll be a Hitachi or something if you haven't upgraded it.
